I am often asked when I lecture if I take tours with me to fabulous gardens abroad. I am ecstatic to now say a resounding yes to that question. I am thrilled to partner with Time Travel Tours on a garden tour of Ireland. October 7-16, 2010.
It will be a perfectly
blissful nine days of garden visits and traipsing through the countryside
sampling the local food and wine. We will meet the owners of the private estate
gardens and learn their garden secrets and talk with them about the reality of
owning and maintaining such gardens in this day and age. We’ll soak up the architecture, kitchen
gardens and perennial borders of these gems that may be slowly disappearing.
We'll visit Helen Dillon's private urban garden and monumental gardens in the countryside like Powerscourt, Mount Usher and Derreen Gardens. I'll offer a lecture at Glin Castle.
